Combo Traits
Since Killer Instinct’s combo engine is fairly universal, many characters come equipped with their own unique combo trait, which is a way for them to uniquely break the rules of the combo system. Some characters that were released a bit later in the game's life stray from this definition a bit; that is, some characters do not break any combo rules, but instead have some unique mechanic that defines how the character works at all points of the fight. For characters with strong and useful traits, it adds a little extra effort to learning to fight against them, but with a solid grasp of how combos are structured, the rules are not difficult to understand or recognize.
